About Our Department |

The Department of Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences was established in August 2002, and the department plans to enroll 50 new students every year. The aim of our department is to train, theoretically and practically, technical and research specialists in basic radiological sciences, medical imaging, medical radiological technology, and clinical practice. Through our training students are equipped with good abilities to practice radiological technology, medical treatment and further research contributing to the elevation of medical quality in Taiwan. The department also set up a Two-year In-service Education Program in medical imaging and radiological sciences in August 2006. |

Courses are designed with five major fields: basic sciences, basic medicine, radiology and imaging sciences, clinical radiological technology, and clinical practice. We focus on basic electronic medical imaging and disciplines in radiology with interdisciplinary studies in clinical diagnosis, clinical treatment, nuclear medicine, sonography and imaging. We train students to have the ability for special research and thesis writing, the professional skills for radiological sciences, and the humanistic quality from general education. 144 credits are required for graduation, including 18 compulsory credits from the core courses of general education, 2 compulsory college credits, 114 professional compulsory credits, and 10 credits from courses of liberal education.
Courses in the first year are on the study of basic disciplines.
In the second year, we focus on important courses in basic medicine and basic radiology, along with courses in designs of computer programmes.
In the third year, courses are designed to focus on professional radiological technology and clinical studies, such as general introduction to radiology and clinical medicine.
Students are arranged for clinical practice in the hospital in the fourth year. This training will equip students with the quality required to be an accredited medical radiologist. |
